Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to digital accessibility
Our Commitment
At Loclie, we believe that technology should be accessible to everyone. We are committed to ensuring that our website and digital services are accessible to people with disabilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other accessibility tools.
We strive to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards, which are internationally recognized guidelines for web accessibility.
What is WCAG 2.2 AA?
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the current recommended standard for web accessibility. Published in October 2023, it builds on WCAG 2.1 and includes new success criteria for improved accessibility. It covers a wide range of recommendations organized around four principles:
- Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive. This includes providing text alternatives for non-text content, captions for videos, and ensuring sufficient color contrast.
- Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable. This means all functionality should be available from a keyboard, users have enough time to read and use content, and navigation is consistent and predictable.
- Understandable: Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable. Text should be readable, web pages should appear and operate in predictable ways, and users should be helped to avoid and correct mistakes.
- Robust: Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies. This ensures compatibility with current and future tools.
Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following accessibility features across our website and applications:
- Semantic HTML structure for improved screen reader navigation
- ARIA landmarks and labels to identify page regions
- Skip navigation links to bypass repetitive content
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and interactive elements
- Sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text)
- Enhanced focus indicators for keyboard navigation (WCAG 2.2)
- Alternative text for images and meaningful graphics
- Resizable text without loss of functionality
- Form labels and error messages for all input fields
- Consistent navigation and page structure
- Dark mode support for reduced eye strain
- Minimum touch target sizes of 24x24 CSS pixels (WCAG 2.2)
- Focus not obscured by other content (WCAG 2.2)
- Dragging alternatives where applicable (WCAG 2.2)
Testing and Compliance
We regularly test our website and applications using:
- Automated accessibility testing tools (axe-core, WAVE)
- Manual keyboard navigation testing
- Screen reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA)
- Color contrast analyzers
- Browser accessibility audit tools
Our development process includes accessibility checks as part of our continuous integration pipeline, ensuring that new features and updates maintain our accessibility standards.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time achievement. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our services by:
- Training our team on accessibility best practices
- Incorporating accessibility requirements into our design and development processes
- Regularly auditing our content and functionality
- Responding promptly to accessibility feedback and issues
- Staying current with evolving accessibility standards and technologies
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility compliance, some content may have limitations:
- Third-party content or embedded services may not fully meet accessibility standards
- User-generated content (such as business descriptions) may not always include proper accessibility attributes
- Some legacy PDF documents may not be fully accessible
We are actively working to address these limitations and welcome feedback on how we can improve.
